Two broken hearts in one day, I'm so mean

+1. The customer isn't always right, but he/she is ALWAYS the customer. You must get him back to a "neutral" frame of mind, IMO. One loose malcontent can give you a lot of badmouth advertising.

    How about some stuck pictures!

    I'd say that's the winner so far.:jawdrop:

    Dog vs Tree

We have a American Hophornbeam (Ostrya virginiana) tree in the side yard which is in good condition with the exception of a small triangular shaped cavity (approx. 3" wide at the ground and 5" high) at the root base. The problem is that the tree is in a fenced-in area that our dog is confined...

Why dont more people use wood furnaces???

Objection noted. I may have been out of line in the use of "weasely"...it's just that I have recently had to switch to a different health insurance carrier and have been wading through the 1/2" thick policy; trying to determine what is covered and what is not covered. So far I've made it...

Why dont more people use wood furnaces???

You may want to check with your agent on this. It would be a shame to have a fire and to not be covered because of an exclusion buried in the fine print of your policy. Insurance companies make their money by weaseling out of every claim they can.

    Project woodshed

Great pictures and a good looking project. Around here, you would have had to draw up plans, have an engineer review and stamp them, submit for a building permit, probably have a surveyer submit a survey and stake the site, have a footer inspection, a foundation inspection, a framing inspection...

    Hauling in wood.. My style

My mistake. It kind of looked like a Ford at first glance. I wasn't familiar with Long so I checked out my tractor site: http://www.tractordata.com/td/long.html I don't think I've ever seen one around here. I've got a 1961 Ford 801. My uncle bought it new and I ended up with it when he...

Do they even have Red Oak in the PNW? I remember FHCW saying that he would kill for some Red Oak firewood a year ago. I vote for Alder.

    Beware of Suck Back!

Well...I don't know anything about suckback and very little about porting mufflers...although like everything thing else, I would imagine there is more than one way to skin a cat. I will stand up for Cruxmon. He's a good Ebay seller. He has good feedback, responds quickly to questions, and...

    AS at the Cemetery

Good pictures, CU. I hope you didn't disturb Mr./Mrs. Hopp...I could see a hand coming out of the ground...grabbing your ankle...pulling you down...getting a chainsaw. Well, we've all seen the movie.

    still no payment from Jazak

My wife took this photo of some guy looking in the basement window to see if I had any saws for sale. He said that he was from New Jersey.

Welcome to AS, Honda04. The "search" feature will yield hours of reading, as this topic has been discussed at length in previous threads. Here's a link to some tips: http://www.woodheat.org/tips/biglistoftips.htm

    Stihl's are WAY too expensive

I wonder if Echo or Shindawa saws are more in line with U.S. domestic pricing?
