    Older Repairs.

OK, So here we go. Now being at the tender ripe age of late mid 60's I have a bit of a trembling problem in both my hands. For minor work this is not an issue/problem. However I was putting a carburetor kit in my 028. All went smoothly until I had to put the spring beneath the lever that allows...

    Husquvarna 455 Oil issue.

Okay, Here is the question. My new neighbor was cutting a tree with his 455. It sounds good. However when he was done I looked at the chain and it was as dry as popcorn. So I am wondering if it is safe to use an air chisel/hammer to free the clutch after I insert the rope into the cylinder. This...

    Stihl 025

Okay, So my trusty 025 is about due for a set of rings. Compression is about 125 psi. My question is should I just put new rings bearings and seals or purchase a whole kit from HyWay. If I purchase the kit with the new cylinder that has a larger bore than the original, will I need new bolts to...

    Surgery

I am sore but very glad to be home. I want to thank all those that wished me well. The surgery went well. I lost just over a teaspoon of blood. It should be about 4-6 weeks before I am able to be more active. My surgery took just over 2.5 hours. I have never taken or been injected with opioid's...

    028AV To Easy

So here is the deal. This saw sat for god knows how long. It had a bow saw attached to it. Well I tried starting it but all I could get out of it was a pop. The compression was a solid 165 pounds. So I put a carburetor kit into it and it ran but not very well. I replaced the gas line that had a...

So, I have a tired 029 and I am planning to make it the 039. Can someone recommend a kit for this? I have been looking at HL Supply however, I have not done any business with there products. Husky 51/55 Carburetor mounting.

This is something that I concocted several years ago. To this day it has worked great. On my 51 Husky directly in front of the carburetor there is a plastic partition. The long screws go all the way past the carb and into another plastic piece. Well the plastic piece had two stripped screw...

    Poulan Pro 4218

So about four months ago my neighbor brought over his saw. It was the Poulan Pro 4218. He said it would not run. I could have it or dispose of it. He wanted it out of his garage. So after it sitting a couple of months I pulled the carburetor off. To cut to the chase I replaced all three gas...

    Echo Air Filter

OK. My Echo CS 590 is a great saw and is just under 2 years old. However it has one flaw. The air filter allows unfiltered air to enter the inside of the air box. I coated the inside with grease and this showed me that the stock filtration could be improved. Yes my chain is sharp however small...

    Grinding Wheel Let Loose

OK, So I now have my saw on the bench and after replacing all three gas lines the saw is now ready to go. So I decide to sharpen the chain. Not a problem. Yet. Anyway washed chain with old mix and set it into my Golly Star. I have had this grinder for over nine years and have sharpened hundreds...

    ECHO CS 590

Well here is the deal. I have had my 590 just around a year. I did a muffler mod and richened it up. However it has a slight hesitation from idle. I have richened the low side, but the slight hesitation is still apparent. I looked around the web and found that this saw has a accelerator pump. Is...

So here's the situation. I was helping an friend clean out her shed. Tools abound. I will mention that she is a widow. Anyway we managed to clear a path and got to the back of the shed. Echo CS 590

Well, here is my question. My 590 is about 7 months old and is in perfect running condition. It's pulls a 20 bar through oak easily. However ,,, I was wondering if putting a carburetor from the Echo 620 could give my saw a bit more muscle. Also. if I decide to pull this stunt will this be a...

    Oil Pump Operation

OK, So after yesterday someone asked if this would work with a rim sprocket. Yes it will. One thing I should mention is the paint from the saw did not actually show the amount of oil being dispensed. It was more than a significant amount . This saw is a Echo CS 550P . The saw yesterday was a CS 590.
