    Chain & bar poll

I dont know about bars but have been testing diffrent chains lately. Oregon, Windsor, Carlton (Woodsman Pro) all seem to be about the same as far as how long they stay sharp. I have found "some" Oregon that was not exactly dull but not sharp either right out of the box. The Windsor and...

    Which saws?

Hello COMPUTERUSER, Thanks for the reply. I can understand you being confused. There are alot of questions I had. The reason behind the questions is simply to help me understand from real professionals what they recomend. Their experience is worth alot to me. Why reinvent the wheel...

    Which saws?

My plan now is to get 2-260 pro with 18" Rollomatic E light bars and RS or RSC chain. The two 361s will have 20" Rollomatic E standard bars with RS or RSC chain and the 440 will get the big 28" Rollomatic E Super bar with RS or RSC chain. Sound good? (Please feel free to shoot me down if...

    fake single mother wants discount

I agree that she does not deserve a discount (I dont like liars!). However, Having been down on my luck and a family of 4 children and a wife I would not have made it if my local church didnt help out. Having been on the other side of the tracks I would give someone a good break on firewood...

    Which saws?

WOW Everyone has made great points. I believe I will get 1-440 2-361 (no C) and 2-260 pros. The biggest stuff we run into is about 24" to 26" across and mainly will be cutting 14" to 16". Not very big. I did want the 440 for when I do run into a big one. My son and I have been using the...

    Which saws?

The 200 was for limbing out the small stuff but agree its probrably not needed. The 460 over the 440. Hmmm Sounds good to me will check it out Tuesday. I liked the feel of the 440. As far as the 260 that also felt real good but I really liked the 361.

    Saw questions.....

Amsoil metal protectant. MP I believe is what they call it. Comes in WD40 size cans but works great! Just spray a heavy coat and let it dry (No filmy residue or oily feel. looks normal). Done. If the saw is used then re-apply and she will last the winter no problem. How I found this stuff...

    saw chain

I tried the WoodsmanPro and it is a good chain (on par with Oregon). It is not however better than some Oregon Ive used (not as sharp). But then again 2 out of 3 boxes of Oregon were not that sharp either. The 3rd box of Oregon was simply amazing! I just purchased a box of the RM2 Stihl...

    bar oil quality???

Well I have seen a diffrence in motor oil and bar lube. My friend swore by motor oil. I used it and got covered in it from a day of cutting. (Not sticky enough) I then went and used STIHL bar lube and no splatter, the chain stayed lubed and wasnt nearly as dirty as the new motor oil. I...

    2 cycle oil warning

Well I have been using the Husqvarna 2 stroke oil and have never had a problem. For my bar lube I switched to STIHL since Husky isnt available and will soon swith to the STIHL 2 stroke oil as well. (No Husky dealers) I dont see any problems with any of the big manufacturers.

    Alternative bar oil containers

My next experiment will be the gear lube pump as seen above. I have a 5 gallon gas can that has a simular pump with a regular looking gas station handle. That works the best for my gas refills. I never get any gas dripped or spilled on anything when filling the saw. Thanks for the idea.

Well I tried the detergent bottle out today and was surprised at how good it worked! Thanks for the idea. Ive cleaned up two bottles and have filled them up about 3/4 full. Much easier.
