I found the operator's manual, and it says Max RPM is 13,300 w/ bar and chain. I've seen the max RPM from 12,500 - 13,300?! What is the Max RPM in the cut 9000?

Just an update. After rebuilding my carb, and getting a Fast Tach the 268xp rips. I tuned the carb, to factor spec. (1 turn out on L and H ), and tested it with the tach, and it was around 12,500. I could lean it out to get 13,000 ?

My service manual for my 064 states 12,000 max rpm's. Where did you find 13,000 as the max?

What RPM is the 064 to run at? I've read 12,000 and then I've read 13,000......

LOL.....you might be right:msp_smile:. Well, I pulled the fly wheel cover off, and couldn't see any p/n on the fly wheel, but the coil looks real new, and the numbers are 31 9358 (Stihl)....

Like I said, in the beginning, I was given 2 extra coils. When I look at the numbers, one didn't have any legible numbers, and seemed to be bulkier, and more square. The second one was smaller, and more round, and its #'s are 1122 1311. Not sure what this means?

Looks like the shape mine is in!!! What did you pay for it? I picked mine up for 475.00 w/ a 28' and 36' b/c.

Great!!!!! Now how do tell, by the coil number? BTW....I called Stihl, in regards to my serial #, and they said, it was before the computers age. They had no info......
