    boots!!!!!!!!!!!

Once again, I really like these...Leather Hiker Lineman Boots - Hoffman Boots...their claim to fame is the mesh should breathe better in hot conditions. I will say though, after doing lots of removals with them, I might go with the 16" version...Leather Hiker Lineman Boots - Hoffman...

    boots!!!!!!!!!!!

So far, so good. They really do have a tough feeling toe box. I've been doing so many removals lately though that I've been wearing the Hoffman's mostly. When I get a few more months in on the Salewa's I'll report back. I have to agree with you...I haven't heard anything about the Salewa's...

    boots!!!!!!!!!!!

On my 1st pair of Alp Trainer GTXs and so far so good. Pretty sticky soles for footlock and monkeying around in the tree. Just a matter of durability now. Will check back in when I've beat them up some.

    Vermeer SC352 Trouble

makes sense to me. i guess the question is, is it worth it? i'm trying to find anybody out there that has taken one apart and seen it in person. if all else fails, it's a Briggs motor, i can get the radiator through them cheaper. radiator's the least of my worries with it right now but I do...

    Vermeer SC352 Trouble

this is an aluminum radiator with plastic reservoirs. there aint no fixin it. crazy thing is, Vermeer took the radiator out, sent it to a local radiator shop, and he said the same thing...couldn't be fixed. then i end up with a $186 bill for them taking the radiator out and reinstalling it...

    Vermeer SC352 Trouble

Seems that way. But I've been told by two people now that you can't rebuild it. If anyone knows different it'd sure be good news.

    Vermeer SC352 Trouble

I own a 2004 SC352 with a gas engine. Bought it new and it currently has approx 470 hrs on it. Engine coolant drained out on me the other day, and after adding more water to determine where the leak was, I noticed it was running out near the upper fins of the radiator. Took it to Vermeer...

    boots!!!!!!!!!!!

they just make ya feel tough!! great spike boots. they're heavy though...i wore them one day to do bids and was worn out by the end of the day. but that goes for any boot that can handle spikes day in and day out. i've had Wescos and Bailey's Red Dawgs. They're all GREAT boots! The...

    Testing the Locked Brummel

Dear NickfromWI, I know that you know your stuff when it comes to splicing. And I feel Moray does as well. My question here is as a curious novice, and by no means a disagreement to anyone. I've seen your video on aluminum rings, where you create a friction saver from the core of another...

    Sequoia, or Sequoia swing???

Been climbing in a Sequoia for years now. Just got the Sequoia Swing. Only batten style I've used prior was a Buckinham Traverse. Let me be clear that I'm saying nothing about batten/bosun seat saddles in general, as it seems to be a hot topic. I do not like the Sequoia Swing. I love the...

    Monkey Grape Vines

The vine with thorns is probably smilax. It can be tough to kill. Everything I've read says to cut it and leave a stalk. Bend the stalk over and tape/tie a vial (or some small container) of Round Up concentrate to it. Keep the cut end submerged in the concentrate. The herbicide will travel...

Anyone have experience with companies that offer a dual service?

Can it be done long-term and successfully? Yes. But I'd bet 9 out of 10 would fail. Obviously by some of these posts there are those that are successful at it and I believe them. But I don't think they're the norm. It's really disappointing to see signs nailed to roadside trees that read...

best machine for loading wood at jobsite?

Love my CAT 232B with overlay tracks and grapple bucket. I cut logs 9' long by walking them off with my boots. I then grab the logs by the ends and carefully feed them into the chipbox on my dump, leaving a few inches to close the tailgate. Made sure when i bought the grapple bucket that it...
