    I agree that the screens do indeed restrict the exhaust flow. I don't know exactly how much but I would guess at least 20%. I have a 372xp that I ported the muffler to about 100% with the screen out and I could tell that it just was not enough of back pressure, put the screen in and it runs...

    impossible for the ring to come off while the piston is in the cylinder unless the top of the piston broke off.
