    Husqvarna 61 scored cylinder

This was used with bad quality 2 stroke oil for scooters. Maybe there are some impurities in it.

    Husqvarna 61 scored cylinder

They move as smoothly as new. 2 stroke oils are available. I sell and use Husqvarna XP and Echo Power Blend, but most people use scooter 2 stroke oils or old chainsaw TOTAL JASO FB oils. I can't convince them to use expensive oils and here we have the results... Some tools like his Echo...

    Husqvarna 61 scored cylinder

Bearings look like new. Bad quality oil is very common here in Argentina. Maybe 1/10 customers use JASO FC or FD oils...

    Husqvarna 61 scored cylinder

So 2 of 2 say there's no way this saw have 2 hours run time or something similar. There's a very thin coat of something similar to carbon mixed with oil in crankcase walls...

    Husqvarna 61 scored cylinder

Interesting opinion. The ring was totally free. I think poor compression is due to those scoring marks. It's not visible in pictures, but they're reaaly deep. Thank you!

    Husqvarna 61 scored cylinder

Hey guys, today a costumer came to my workshop with a brand new Husqvarna 61 (they still make them here in South America). It had not compression. I have never seen a cylinder scored like this one is. No aluminum transfer, piston in good shape if compared to its cylinder, and only 2 hours of...

Strato engines: When will we know?

Yes, but today I'm still having problems with strato saws...

Are Strato engines more finicky and hard to work on?

Yeah, I'm sorry. I'll send him a PM.

Tuning the MS201 requires PATIENCE or at least...

Yes, I know, but strato saws and EPA are still a problem...

Tuning the MS201 requires PATIENCE or at least...

I'm not so sure about that. Echo keeps making old school 2 stroke engines with adjustable carburetors. That "strato" and electronic carburetors **** is too problematic and not necessary at all...

Are Strato engines more finicky and hard to work on?

Could you explain this please? : "And they must be hot to really work right" I'm having lots of issues with strato saws in my shop when they're hot, but I they'll pass all kind of pressure and vacuum tests when cold...

Strato engines: When will we know?

Yeah, you're right, they won't blow that easy, but they're more problematic than old school 2 stroke engines. Husqvarnas are having lots of issues with warm and hot start, rough hot idle, etc. Some models are unfixable... IMO they're too far from being as reliable as old 2 stroke engines are...

Husqvarna 455 Surging at Idle, Air Leak or Carburetor Problem?

I'm having the same issue with a 235 in my shop. A few days ago it would not idle. Today it runs like a charm... Pressure and vacuum tested the crankcase and every part, new gaskets, carb kit, lines, filters, tank vent, etc. They usually show erratic idle when hot. Maybe they have a cylinder...

Husqvarna 455 Surging at Idle, Air Leak or Carburetor Problem?

Those kind of problems are very common within modern husqvarna saws, at least in the configuration Husqvarna sells in my country... Some of them have an accelerator pump with a tiny o-ring behind their throttle shaft and they develop an air leak. It's perfectly fixable overriding the system...

Husqvarna 235/236 and 240 carburetor problems

I'm going in that direction too. Some 235, 236 and 240 have air leaks in carburetors, specifically in their accelerator pumps, and this problem is perfectly fixable. The "unfixable" ones develop some kind of air leak in other parts when hot, or they just lose compression, or maybe that weird...

Husqvarna 235/236 and 240 carburetor problems

I'll be waiting for your results. Take in mind Husqvarna 235/236 and 240 have lots of problems like bad tank vents and vaporlock. They're ****...

Husqvarna 235/236 and 240 carburetor problems

You have to dissasemble the carb. It's behind the throtle shaft. There is a spring and a piston with an o-ring. To override that sh*t you have to put JB weld inside and then put the piston without o-ring. You must discard the spring too. But here comes the tricky part. With some acetate pump...
