    Wedgle issues

After a wet, rainy day, the next day was very windy, so I thought it would be a good day to inject. Going back to the job the following day all the injecrion sites looked like this. Is the chemical leaking or is sap just draing from the puncture wounds?

    EAB reaches Wisconsin

I live in Geneva Il, and one thing I have noticed, as about 2/3 of the ash have died and been removed, is that it, is all the green ash. The white ash all appear perfectly healthy. Just something to consider before anyone starts cutting down all their ash.

    oak wilt

Oaks in the red group are at higher risk than those in the white group. White will fight, Red are dead.

    Bag Worms

BT is effective if you use it early enough. Mechanical control is the best method, try to pick as many off as you can reach. Though by now they will have already turned to adults. The males emerge and fly to the females. The larger females stay in the bags and lay their eggs inside so it is...

    Can't find the bagworms

For the last several years, bagworms have been numerous about this time of year. It's usually around the 4th of July. But this year I have seen no signs of them. I am hoping that the long Chicago winter killed them off, or maybe theyr'e just late. The catalpa is supposedly the indicator...

If you love ash trees, news doesn't get any better than this:

Rumor has it that testing was not done thoroughly, and the chemical was approved due to "politics."

If you love ash trees, news doesn't get any better than this:

Is there any word when this emamectin benzoate will be available for purchase. Is it a spray or an injection? I am really excited to hear more about this.

Care of Soon to be Transplanted Spruce

I would recomend the leaf shield, and water the trees all the way up until the ground freezes. If the ground is already frozen in Canada then .... good luck.

    fungus on my spruce trees

I agree, what you are describing is a lichen, it is grey to blue-green looking, growing on the trunk of the tree. It is a fungus and an algae growing together as one organism, in which they feed each other, and do no harm to the tree. This is probably the most frequently asked question I get...

    Subdue and merit substitutes

My company recently swithed from Merit to Xytect. You can save alot money when you are buying as much as we are. The only difference I notice is that xytect tends to foam up more when in the agitation tank. It is kind of annoying to try to flush out foam at the end of the day.

    Mycorrhiza

A tea is probably the best, but is more difficult to make, especially if using it on a smaller scale. I would recomend some type of granular. I believe soil injection is the best method to reach tree roots, soil drench for the grass.

    Biting mites in chicago

Has anyone had any encounters with the biting mites. A coworker of mine had a bid to go spray an oak tree for them and came back with about 3 bites on him. What are these things and where did they come from?

    Yellowing Pin Oak

I thought Pin Oak chlorosis was from a manganese defiency. A Verdur injection is what I use and it works very well on pin oaks.

Thank you, I felt the lable was unclear, but I am notorious for misinterpetting things.

    injecting the slippery elm

quick question. Injecting an Ulmus rubrum I know you are to use half the dose. My co-workers and I are arguing, how much water to inject. they tell me that the amount of water should be cut in half as well. I mean that defeats the purpose of cutting the arbotec in half, you still need all...
