    2100 heaven

Putting the round side of the (cut) washers outwards, results in the sharp~burr side being against the part. Not a good thing as the square~burr tends to dig into the part and can lead to cracked parts.

Mag Rot - How Far Is Too Far?

You do realize that you just (carbon?) dated yourself with analogue clock reference? Still have them myself! Anyhow. The last piston I cleaned that resembled yours, I put in the ultrasonic and a solution of water and "pine cleaner" soap. Funny that the real brand here "Pine-Sol" no longer has...

Mag Rot - How Far Is Too Far?

Tom, How well would you say the Evaporust works at turning the carbon loose? As you may have noticed, The carbon removal remains a perennial issue that comes up for suggestions. When looking for something to get carbon out of cylinders, I see this ingredient "EDTA" show up in a few posts...

    Smaller rings on a piston

If you have any doubts about the calipers, try measuring a few things that you feel you know what the dimensions are. Feeler/thickness gauges that aren't bent or damaged where you can't use them for this task. Many of us have them on hand! How about a good grade of drill bit? As long as the...

    Smaller rings on a piston

They'll hammer the heck out of the piston. Eventually you get to play guess why the rings broke (and the piston) and be wondering why it looks as though they suddenly got caught in a port.

Bought a new Poulan Pro 5020 to see what there about

That oak was the only thing I had around to cut of that size. Also, that oak was the about the only thing I cut that was dried out. Yeah, I wondered if dry wood was connected to the issue. Edit: Wish I'd had enough sense to remember and tap the wood, on camera, with a hammer and give an easy...

Bought a new Poulan Pro 5020 to see what there about

The Vanguard chain can made to cut. This is the factory bar & chain on mine. Tooth profile would have been pretty close to factory in this video. With a bit of hook filed into the teeth, it loves those trash trees that developers leave standing in yards. Under 10 inch diameter and green...

    Echo PB770T Bogging Down

For anyone reading. Forgot to mention that the reason for asking about compression would be the lack of power to hit top rpm with a blower. That fan puts a pretty good load on the engine and low compression can be a reason for not getting top revs out of a blower. I'm only online...

    Echo PB770T Bogging Down

Just a tom-fool question here. Did you have a compression number? Seems like the smaller (pb-620) units that I've seen, with high hours and worn rings, seemed to "weep" a lot, past the crank seals. If the fan side seal is leaking , the crankcase, back of fan housing and all around the carb...

    Mufflers get hot.

Damned vid was cut too short. Would really liked to have seen the next couple of minutes. Just a civilian observer here. Do any of you climbers (still?) have metal wire cored flip lines? Or has OSHA or California declared them a hazard of some sort?

Todd Loosli: And for the love of Pete, Don't do the vertical ("skinny") video crap that so many retards post from phones. You've got the video in the correct orientation now. Oh, has anyone heard an estimated price for the 4000 kit? Some of us just don't go near facebook. Other bills and...

    Let's Talk Ultrasonic Cleaners

Reason to leave the lid loose enough to -rattle-? Due to pressure build up: The jar could just simply crack and drop a piece of glass into the tank. So you get to clean up the mess in the tank. Worse case? the jar shatters explosively. Glass shards and flammable liquid splashes out and...

    Echo PB770T Bogging Down

I don't see a new fuel hose mentioned. That black hose of Echos is nice and flexible but it gets soft and gummy after a while, especially if it's ever been exposed to alcohol. You may have already swapped it , but just not listed it. You should check the spark to see if it jumps an honest 1/4"...

I Posted An Ad Looking For Broken Saws....

As a Craigslist reader, let me mention that spelling the product name properly helps to sell it. If I have to guess at 13 misspellings or colloquialisms, then *your going to be overlooked. Then there are the idiots who do the dictionary dump for key words. I tend to filter out truck & car...

There appears to be another tool on a sliding~tube w/thumbscrews mounted on the side. I Gotta ask if they ever screwed that into your noggin and tried to just yank ya out? .....before they semi-vivisectioned poor ol Mom? X^D I assume the telescoping part is to facilitate tightening the...

    Fuel Filter question Briggs?

On all my yard equipment, I use the large (translucent) filter (don't know the mesh size though). I also route the fuel line for a bit of a loop so as to include the fuel shutoff valve. Like Manic84 said, run the carb dry after each yard mowing. Do a full cleaning and rebuild on the fuel...
