Sugihara and Tsumura vs Rollomatic ES

Yes, I still like the Sugihara bars. The light weight makes it possible to use a bar that has some length to it but still balances well. The steel is good and the bars last a long time.

    562XP oiler issue

Haven't cut with a 562 yet but I personally didn't like the way it felt. The top handle had way too much angle for my liking. Of course I have owned some Jred's so might be biased.

    Jonsered or Dolmar?

Buy both, try them out, keep the one you like most, sell the other one, then use the money to buy something else!

    My Cure for CAD

Yuck is Right! Selling cars is the last thing I'd want to do do. We only buy them for our own use thankfuly.

    My Cure for CAD

I haven't been around AS much this year, since starting my own (non-woodcutting) business in April. But I found a cure for CAD. It's been replaced by AAD! Instead of buying saws, I'm buying cars (Autos) for the business! The "disease" has not been cured, it's just been replaced by something...

    Sta-Bil

High octane fuel is very unlikely to have less ethanol in it, as the ethanol itself is a much higher octane and thus an easy way to get the octane number up.

    372xp

365 is a darn good saw even when stock!

    First experience with bad fuel

If you do that it, it might be even more moody! :monkey:

    First experience with bad fuel

I had to go with my truck a few days ago and pick up my wife and her scooter. She had filled up on a humid day and I think the fuel coming out of the pump has already phase separated. The scooter's fuel tank was so full of water, there was a very distinct layer in the bottom of my Ratio-Rite...

    Problem with Stihl chains

I've had the same problem within the last 4-5 months with a couple of RSC loops out of maybe a doizen, thought it was me. Felt almost like I had rocked the chain on the first cut, even though I was cutting clean logs that were 3' in the air. The rest were the usual "awesome"

Husky 372....getting parts for in the future

The 372 will probably be one of the last saws from the current era to run out of parts. I'll probably be dead long before the last 372.

    Too late!

Wouldn't it be cool to read German saw sites in English? - You can!!

It's even more cool to just read the German and understand it, though learning it is not necessarily so easy.

Building saws on the kitchen table

It's not a kitchen table, it's a workbench that's closer to the food and drink supply!

    Earthday!!!

I fixed a motorcycle carburetor that was previously puking gas everywhere, plus did some valve adjustments, then went the 32 miles home at 5MPH under the speed limit. Not because I'm a total tree hugger, but because a) I got paid for the work and b) if I get one more ticket I might lose my...

Stihl RMC vs. RMC3 Saftey Chain

There was a long and sometimes ugly thread on this a year or so back: http://www.arboristsite.com/showthread.php?t=91574 Some will say "just as fast" others will say "regular" chain is twice as fast. In my experience, "limited kickback" chain is about 20% slower in green wood, and much...
