    Husky 288

288 I'd be interested in knowing some easy things to do to my 88 also, I think my 372 will out cut it even though it is completely rebuilt and seems to run decent? A little disappointing for and 88 cc saw of course it has a 36" bar also.

    What's The Best OWB?

wood boiler I purchased a greenwood 100 {100,000 btu] 2 years ago knowing they were in financial trouble but restarting as another company. I bought it used for 2400.00, and installed it in my cellar. 3 years ago it cost me about 4000.00 to heat but last year it was about 280.00 and 5 cords of...

    404 chain

    Not enough H.P.?

    Skip chain

I have a 372 with 24" bar and skiptooth carbide chain and it cuts slower, but runs higher rpm due to less teeth enguaged. Skip tooth chains use less hp but have more space to allow the chip to clear. I am in the process of taking it off but may use the chain on a 55 cc dolmar and I think it will...

    404 chain

What does everyone think about running 404 chain on a husky 288. Does anyone have a setup like that. Does anyone make the sprocket and bar for Husqvarna, how much better or worse will it be to run. Would there be any advantages or disadvanteges to it? I only cut wood to burn so I want to cut as...

    Barn Find

You might want to look and see if it has a reed valve my 758g broke and I couldn't get it running. I'm still looking for an air filter and cover to hold it in, I think my son was playing with it and now can't find it.

    Stihl vs Husqvarna

Another thing you could try is putting a 24" bar on your saw and getting a skip tooth or double skip tooth chain which requires less hp to cut. I know it will be slower but much cheaper. I installed the same set up on my 55 cc dolmar and with a some extra more effort I was able to finish cutting...

    Which is better for hardwoods

h.p. vs torque I had a motor repair man tell me a simple way of keeping it in a single statement. Torque gets you there but h.p. keep you there. that is why you need the best of both worlds, and it keeps the porting people working. The best thing I do is keep the chain sharp and find and keep...

    stihl vs oregon

stihl is very good chain and i will go out of my way to get it but i just recieved 2 oregon chains for my 346xp that the company claims is the best cutting chain made today. not real sure what it means but he said something like it is a 72 chain, some kind of designation so i put it on the other...

Hot Rod Ported Polished Husqvarna 346XP Chainsaw Dirty Saw non X Torq NO EPA

346xp I just got mine in and it sounds great and cut a 17" piece of oak in about 15 sec. I never ran a saw with such high rpm so I will have to get used to it. 20" bar 3/8 chain and 7 tooth sprocket. I have a good feeling about this one.
