    Dcs 540 odd carb issues

I have a dcs540 that hasn't run well in a long time so I did a carb rebuild yesterday to little effect. It idles very poorly to not at all with the idle screw all the way in and the l screw pretty far out. It runs rich in the cut with the h screw all the way tight. This is contrary to my past...

Husqvarna 61 leans out as it warms up

A friend gave me a husky that runs fine when cold then gets leaner and leaner as it warms up. The only way it will idle is with the idle screw turned all the way in. I replaced the carb with the same results. I have pressure tested it and don't see any bubbles. Not sure how I could pressure test...

    Fs250 bad clutch?

I have an still fs250 that runs but the trimmer head does not spin. Sometimes when it is off spinning the trimmer turns the piston over other times it moves freely. Is this a bad clutch? Are there other things I should do to diagnose? Update. I have removed the engine and the clutch bell spins...

Crappy tach seized my mom's saw

I just fixed my mom's husky 235. It just needed a little carb adjustment. I bought one of those wired tach with the hour meter for 15 from the local parts store to set the h screw and today I get it back with a seized motor. I checked the gas and it was definitely mixed. Has anyone else had a...

    triple sling eye splices

Check out sherrilltree.com item 36654. How does one put put 2 eyes on the end of a piece of tenex like this? Would it be reasonable to make this using more affordable steel eye splices instead of these pricey x rigging thimbles? I've done a single brummel eye but have been unable to find any...

    ms210c gas leak

I told my girlfriend I would fix the gas leak on her 210c. I replaced the fuel line but that wasn't it. It appears to be leaking from the carb itself worse when running buy a little even when off. I called the local shop to price a rebuild kit for the carb and told them the problem. The guy said...

    Cheaper cylinder/piston for a ps/dcs 540

Does anyone know of an aftermarket cylinder piston combo for the dcs 540? The OEM one runs $185 and up and just isn't worth it to me. I would be into putting pretty much anything on here even if it was a downgrade to a smaller size. thanks

Jred 670 champ fuel pickup problems

I've written a couple of times about the saw in question. After taking a break from it for a while I've picked it back up. First off I found this saw in the scrap yard this summer and decided to fix the thing up. Here's what I "fixed" Replaced carb with rebuilt/new one Did pressure...

    Jonsered 670 fuel delivery problem

I recently pulled a 670 out of my local scrap yard that had decent compression and rotten fuel lines. I replaced the fuel lines and the carb with a rebuilt one. If I spray gas straight in the carb it starts and runs a second or two. Attempting to start the saw it does not seem to be...

    Jonsered 670 champ parts

I'm looking for parts for a jonsered 670. I believe it is a 93 as the serial number begins with a 3(that's what the Tilton folks thought) Does anyone have a place to recommend? Also the fuel intake nipple pulled out of the carb. I just put some epoxy on it and stuck it back in the hole. Was that...
