    Coontie scale and fungus

My Coontie Since the coonties are in my screened area, I wouldn't miss seeing moths. And that I haven't seen. However the red scale looks like it could be it. I'll clean them up as best I can and then spray. Thanks, Lynne

    Coontie scale and fungus

I have several coontie palms that have what looks to be scale (little round brown things) and black soot on the fronds. I've used soapy water and a tooth brush to clean it up, but it keeps coming back. I'm not sure what else I can do. Is there something that can rid this for good?

    Black Locust

A graft? I will check, but I don't remember ever seeing a graft. There are two branches very low to the ground. Could the graft possibly be so low that it's burried? Does this happen to prevent people from growing more? I was so happy when I saw the first one come up until I learned that...

    Black Locust

Hi, I have a Dwarf Twisty Baby Black Locust and was wondering if this tree could actually produce babies that are the regular Black Locust?? We've had a dozen of these pop up within 15 feet of the tree and can't image that it's coming from the same tree. These babies have thorns, where...

Brown leaf edges on Butterfly Japanese Maple

Black edged leaf on my Salvia guaranitica

You've missunderstood me Hi John, Everything I've read about my particular Salvia states that it's hardy to zone 7. I'm in Zone 6. The tag on the plant says it's hardy to zone 3. I wasn't sure the tag was correct, since nothing I read went any lower that zone 7. So, I thought I'd ask.

Black edged leaf on my Salvia guaranitica

Thanks John Yes, salvia is sage. The type that I have is a very cool blue (like that bouncing blue smile, :blob3: ) and it's supposed to smell like anise. I am deadheading all the discolored leaves, I just don't like the looks of them. When you say "deep mulch", is that greater than 3...

Black edged leaf on my Salvia guaranitica

Hi, Earlier this summer we bought a Salvia guaranitica. It's a beautiful plant, but for some reason several of the leaf edges are turning black. Does anyone know the reason for this? It doesn't seem to be affecting the plant. It has new growth and is still flowering. Also, the tag that...

Pruning of a Dwarf 'Twisted Baby' Black Locust

Thank you Thank you both for your input. I will wait and watch how much I trim away. I can't wait to see the flowers it produces and I don't want to interfere the blooms. Lynne

Pruning of a Dwarf 'Twisted Baby' Black Locust

Earlier this summer we bought a Dwarf 'Twisted Baby' Black Locust. It's starting to get a little too bushy. Does anyone know the best way (and time) to shape this tree? Thanks, Lynne
