on the haldex/barnes 2 stage pumps ive worked on, the hex was just a cap that covered the adjustment screw, you would take the cap off and that would expose the adjustment screw... it looks like yours is "stuck" to the adjustment screw, so the entire screw came out instead of just the cap...

but that doesn't really mean anything...there is still more energy stored in the flywheels if needed, also the ram speed wouldn't add much of anything to the force, its not moving fast enough... acceleration of the ram also isn't much of a factor at all, its 0 to full speed in the time it takes...
