    Eucalyptus Stump Removal- Epsom Salt?

Grind it. Spray new growth with Remedy. I have never had luck spraying the fresh cut stump. It need to travel back down on new growth.

egged out bolt holes stump cutter

The way I look at it, the pocket bolts shearing prevents catastrophic damage. I would probably replace the wheel. Every time I have sheered a bolt I was pretty happy the $300 belt survived.

    Another stump grinding nightmare.

Congrats!! You have literally resurrected a thread from the dead. Straight out of a grave yard. After grinding for over ten years, 1000's of hours, my self imposed rule still holds - If you lose money on a job, make sure the customer is happy. You are going to "find" things. You are going...

Carlton SP4012 / 2500 front hydraulic pump leak when turning

You can just put a seal kit in it. Or, you can take it to any hydraulics shop. The nice thing about doing it yourself is you only have to remove one end. If there are 2 cylinders on that function, do 'em both.

Had to grind a big'un today.

This is one of the biggest I have had to do this year. It was taken down as a perfectly healthy tree. Quite amazing it survived the drought several years ago. I did not see it before it was cut. A power line and fence had to be removed before the take-down.

How Reliable Is Your Tree Stump Grinder?

My apologies then Roy. I have been running Rayco stump grinders for the last 6-7 years. If I had equipment experiences like yours, I would not have stayed in business. There are quite a few posts on this site that might help you. "people's experience with their stump grinders" is a little...

700 series Green Teeth on 2016 RG45X stump grinder

OP, I am not familiar with the RG45. I have run a RG50. As far as actual horse power to the wheel, we are probably pretty close. I have over 1000 hours running 1100s without no complaints. When I bought my Super 50 it already had 1100s on it. In fact, that used to be the recommended tooth...

    550XP/562XP Long Term Reliability

Stihl love it! (sorry, I had to....) As I have said, I do not use it every day. Even less now as I am doing less grinding. In September my parents house was hit with a tornado. I drove up to help with clean up. The 562 had been sitting unused for several months. Long enough I...

    Deutz-Allis Compact Tractor

Well, he never said what model he was looking at. Deutz was not involved with Allis until the mid 80's as I remember. They had several air cooled models. The C174 was from '80 to 85. I never saw one. Not sure they were ever sold in the US? The 2WD Hinomotos prior to that, E230, E-280...

Have Greenteeth Taken a Step Back in Quality ?

I'm running 1100 series reds. I have not noticed a change in the bolts, pockets or teeth. I do not have much natural rock to deal with here.

    Grinding for replanting

I don't know about white pines, the pines we have in Texas go half way to China. If they want 16-24" below natural grade, that is a job for a track hoe, not a grinder.

Proud owner of a 4012 44hp grinder and am looking for all the tips and tricks!

In two thousand hours, two different machines, I have found countless things that no one was looking for. I have sheared bolts, ruined pockets and teeth. I have had situations where I thought afterward, "I can't believe I did not trash the belt." And yet, I have never had a belt failure...

    rayco super rg 50

They look pretty good. No scouring, there is some wavy type wear at the end of the barrel toward the front . I just pulled the rams out the front. Removing the cylinders completely would be challenging. I feel pretty sure the seal kits will make an amazing difference considering how bad the...

    rayco super rg 50

1960 hours. I think I got it at about 1050. The seller had just put a new set of gears/belt and bearings on it. Contrary to what I have read about the life of the gears, it looks like I'm about 50 % now. I have had to adjust the polybelt one time. One blown hose... one starter, one battery...

    rayco super rg 50

With the machine off, you could swing the cutter head with a knee. I pulled the swing rams today. Definitely the problem, main wipers were disintegrated.

Anyone ever bought "new" greenteeth that weren't?

Just to clear the air, it looks like I was wrong. The teeth I though were re-tipped were factory new. It looks like I'm using some old ('05?) stock and the manufacturing process has changed since then.
