Got me some new Chippewa boots today!

I have 4 different Carhartt boots (the ones made by Red Wing). They are all extremely comfortable, good looking and tough. Red Wing sold the Carhartt naming rights to Black Diamond recently so Red Wing made Carhartt boots can be found for great prices on clearance. Last weekend I bought 2...

how do you transport your wood out of the forest?

fill up a plastic sled with wood, hook up the sled to a body harness, put the harness around my shoulders and away I go. If the ground is dry, wheel barrow or deer cart works good too.

    Need a bigger saw...suggestions

Matt, I cut about 10-15 cord of oak and hickory every year. I bought a Stihl 441 (70cc), and it has served me extremely well for 3+ years. I have some decent sized oaks on my property, and there is nothing the 441 couldn't handle yet. Great saw! I haven't used my 260 for 2 years now.

Observations between ethanol and real gas

Ethanol-free gas stations in NY I have gone to gas station in Pittsford. On this list, there are two in Henrietta and one in Avon, one in Canandaigua. Yes it appears marinas have regular gas. I feel bad I exposed my saws to ethanol all last year without doing this research. Getting the...

Observations between ethanol and real gas

Nope. Gas station is in the liberal bastion of Pittsford where Prius and tiny foreign cars reign supreme. I live east of Rochester.

Observations between ethanol and real gas

Last spring/summer, local gas stations all switched over to ethanol so my saws had to run on it for the first time. Of course I noticed a decrease in gas mileage in my truck right away. I also found my chainsaws didn't have as much power, ran hotter, idled terribly and the exhaust was very...

    E15 is on the way

Seriously, how does this effect our chainsaws and trimmers? We had 3 gas stations within 15 miles that still sold real gas, but they all switched to E10 this month. I am worried enough about E10, now E15 will be on the way. Does anyone use E10 in their Pro saws? My saws have seen nothing...

storage case for a stihl 441

My 441 fits just fine in a Stihl case. You just have to move the saw toward the back a bit when you place it in the case. Case closed.
