husqvarna gas 262 and 261 the same

The 261 and the 262 use same handle. The 254 and 257 use the same handle. They are NOT the same, but both will work The 261 and 262 uses a heavy duty, steel spring type absorber (buffer) on front right. The 254 and 257 use a rubber absorber. Like i said both will fit, but you will have to have...

    Husky 257 help.

Great job!!!! Looks good!!!! Keep in mind , when and if things go bad with motor, the 257 is an easy conversion to a 262. All you need is a good 262 or 261 cylinder, 3 to 4 262 or 261 intake parts, and a 262 piston. That will give you 1 more HP, according to mfg. specs. There are a couple good...

    Won't start when hot

Im not familiar with that saw, but you may want to check the tank vent (if it has one). An easy way to check is get it hot and after it dies, slowly remove fuel cap. Listen closely for air being sucked into tank. Tighten up fuel cap an see if it'll crank up. If it does you've got a tank venting...

    55 rancher problems

I think you are on the right track. There is a tank vent inside the fuel tank. Sounds like its clogged up. There are different ways of getting it out. I take a long thin screwdriver and push it out from inside the tank. You should be able to see it by looking through the fuel fill hole. Its at...

ideal bar length for 262 xp

For me, 18" is ideal. But i do keep a 20" setup for when i need it. IMO its more about what your'e cutting and the feel you like. I have tried 16" up to 24" on mine, but i like the 18" best. It'll cost you a few bucks, but the only way to know for sure is to bolt one on and try it. Check if any...

    55 husky with nwp piston.....

I prefer the meteors too, but i would stick it in. It should be ok. Like others have mentioned, oem or camber ring and oem circlips. If things do go sideways with it, you have given him fair warning.
