    201t

Eventually I will have to switch...but as a forestry climber my saw takes a lot of abuse.... a lot of knocking around and constant cutting all day. Yesterday I was in the trees all day...topped and pruned about 30 trees.....about six hours before hitting the ground...I know the 200t can take...

    201t

They're still selling them out in TO ? I can't seem to find any here on the island (200t's that is), 201 is taking over. I'd even consider ordering one from Ontario if I knew I could get one....Do you know anywhere back that way that's still selling 200t's? My sister lives in London I'm...

    201t

I missed out on the whole changeover from the 200 to the 201...Went buy one yesterday and was in for a shock. Has anyone worked with on of these? I was told they lack the chain speed and the torque of the 200t. They look less durable as well. For the climbing I due I need the power and the...

Under the covers of the MS201T

i'm a stihl/husky/dolmar man.... but for topping trees in the forest industry everyone ran stihl because the revved high and have the torque to chew through 2'+ diameter tops...I've heard that these new stihls lack the chain speed and the torque....which would really suck as I missed out on this...

    today's job "step cut 3"

I gotta say thats one silly ass, convoluted, contrived and overly intellectualized cuts I've ever seen...I don't know why you're continually showing it off like its the be all and end all of falling cuts.... post the video of you making the cut and boring the #### outta it to show how fast it...

    considering a new Morbark 8d ( 8" chipper )

Very Impressive, I'm jealous. But like I kept repeating to the dealer: I CAN'T AFFORD IT! I'd love to drive a ferrari too...but....

    considering a new Morbark 8d ( 8" chipper )

You sound like a dealer! That's exactly what he said when I told him I couldn't afford to buy the one he was selling...He just couldn't wrap his head around that concept...

    step cut

how much time do you save doing that ridiculous looking cut as oppsed to bucking down the stump lower after you've felled it? Plus is seems there is more room for f ups as you're relying on the hinge wood as well as the wood holding the step, not to mention all the plunge cuts. I dare you to...

    considering a new Morbark 8d ( 8" chipper )

I agree the bigger chippers work faster, but they also cost more and I've always tried to keep my payments to a minimum. I think a lot of people overextend themselves....which, in an up an down business like ours can lead to disaster. If you got the cash go and buy the best, but otherwise...

    step cut

you do good tree work murphy but that looks like the most ridiculously contrived cut I've ever seen...Whatever happened to a simple notch, backcut, throw a few wedges in so it doesn't sit back... and give it a pull and down she goes...these plunge cuts have gone absolutly viral! Some of you...

    considering a new Morbark 8d ( 8" chipper )

I was looking for a chipper and I got a lot of similar answers you got, ...don't get anything less the 12"...Go big or go home. But I wanted to keep my costs low..limit payments and getting to the market to find a big chipper would cost me as I live in a smaller part of bc. I found a 935...

    tightening belt on 935 Vermeer

Anyone know how to tighten the belt on a 1994 935 vermeer? I'm thinking that the threaded rods that are on clutch handle are the tickets, but I'm not sure....I think I've got to screw them out in order to lengthen which will to push more tension on the belt...but they're seized up pretty...

    Falling pics 11/25/09

I just wanna tell you guys I enjoy your threads a lot more than the commercial climbing...I'm a tree climber that tops trees in the forest industry as well as does residential tree care. I've learned alot from the climbing thread but also have to wade through a lot of egotistical, holier that...

    Vertical Speedline

How do you guys keep the bottom (butt) end of the speedline tight? Do you use a porty on the bottom to tighten up the slack on the bottom of the stem as you work your way down? or run line thru mini block and tighten away from the stem...re-tie the knot or what? I've never used one and would...
