    Finally bought me a Dolmar

I didn't realize until your second to last post that you had a cat muffler. Things make a bit more sense now. My early 2006 ("vintage" lol) 5100 (non cat) has always ran extremely strong......Speed and grunt. :chainsaw: Agreed, I really have no desire to time saws. My 5100 puts my firewood...

    Finally bought me a Dolmar

LOL, Didn't think you were......I was just pointing out that my 50cc 5100 would whip a 59cc green saw from yesteryear, that I know you're fond of. A tree guy at the local Dolly dealer claims he runs 24" bars on his 5100s and says they'll pull it. I laughed but the dealer said he does, even...

    Independent We Stand

Nice test Mark.....You got that in while I was posting so that explains a few things....Looks like your compression is good. Keep us posted.

    Finally bought me a Dolmar

Mark than I'd have to say someone has replaced the bar. The paint on the Dolmar bars doesn't hold up for squat and the way that one looks, either the saw hasn't been used but a few times or the bar is (OEM) new and if so why? The muffler has been modded, the rim sprocket has been...

    Finally bought me a Dolmar

From the looks of that bar she ain't been ran much. Mine really came to life after 10-15 tanks, maybe more. I'm running the stock 18" bar and Carlton .325 chisel chain and she's plenty hot! :chainsaw: :givebeer:

    Dolmar 5100s question

:notrolls2: but if you must, this is by far the best post yet....Well said!

    I bought my dream truck

Nice classic truck!.....Looks like the bed and cab don't line up right. May have something to do with the hydraulics but usually it's a sign the cab mounts are shot. You might want to take a look at those.

    Filson logger jacket?

Yep, probably....Their oiled tin cloth normally stands itself up in the corner and waits for you to climb in.....LOL That's why they last so long but it gets softer with time, I think. lol :givebeer:

    Filson logger jacket?

Pendleton makes/made great stuff too. Unfortunately most all their stuff is assembled in China now. Man, how I still love my old pendleton guide/field shirts! Some of the best shirts ever. I always thought of Pendleton as more of shirt/sweater company. Their new coats are just silly, useless...

    Filson logger jacket?

    Dolmar 5105 Rev Limiter

This is the way I tune my saws, 5100s included....No need for a tach like this and haven't burned one up yet. Is there more left, maybe a little but I'm not racing, just cutting wood so they run good enough for me and stay ready to work for the next time out.

    Dolmar 5100 limiter caps

Just trim the tabs/wings. If for some reason you can't get full adjustment, yes just pull them off. On my 5100 the dealer removed only the (L) limiter when it was new.

    Dolmar 5100s melting down

The saw is running lean......You better turn the (L) jet screw, counter clockwise, in small increments, until the acceleration becomes crisp or it will be fried again in short order.

    Dolmar 5100s melting down

    LMAO......That's NOT a 5100....That's a 346.

    Dolmar 5100s melting down

    Dolmar 5100s melting down

Yep, bad dealers ruin good saws, no doubt about that....Good luck!

    Dolmar 5100s melting down

Yep, you're right it was speculation, my bad but how many of these 5100 posts are likely propaganda? They are usually always new members. They always rat on Dolmar big time. They can never show any proof/pic. They never are willing to sell the saw to another member. You never see burned up...
