    legendary climber in intensive care

What kind of a "Legend" doesnt know the most basic part of selecting a Tie In Point. ALWAYS around the stem as opposed to over a branch. I'll take a guess that the T.I.P was set from a throwline. When doing so its always way easier than getting it around a stem and easy to become complacent...

Business Cards: FOIL & MARBLE This is my pick.

I use these, full color front and back (photo if you like) 1000 for $120Aud. Really not a big cost. Give em to anyone and everyone. I give 1 with every quote, and a few with a follow up thank you letter after doing the job to pass on to their friends.

    Lets see some Equipment pics!!!

We mostly work in the suburbs, very few stumps you can get a tow behind to, even our rayco only does about 3/10 stumps. The Stumphumper does more work. But if you come this far or we do anything down your way i'll yell out! Trev

help: peppercorn tree eaten alive by fungi

Hi Emma All in all, it looks fairly typical for a mature Peppercorn. The general structure of the tree is ok. The mushrooms at the base may be Armillaria (different species to the guys in the US have BTW). If so, the stability of the whole tree can be questionable as it is a root rot...

    Maul/Axe for Splitting Eucalyptus

I found the Fiskars splitting axe to be good. Lifetime warranty on the handle. Mine has so far out lasted about 10 wooden handles and the head pops most eucs apart quite well.

help: peppercorn tree eaten alive by fungi

HI Emma, Your tree could have some serious problems there. I would need to see more of the trees overall structure. A consultation would be the best way to assess what sort of future there is for this tree. Whereabouts are you? I'm in the South East suburbs of Melbourne and have a lot of...

    Quoting Systems?

Why be cheaper?????? Our customers often say we were the dearest quote they got but want us to the work. Sell them on VALUE, not price. If the only way anyone can get work is being the cheapest then competition runs DOWN the prices for the industry and we ALL suffer.

    Araucaria araucana?

Might be a common names variation thing being on the other side of the world n all but... We in Australia know the Auracaria heterophylla as Norfolk Island Pine. Quite a common garden tree in Melbourne, often outgrown its location in a suburban back yard. Dont know how much truth there is...

    Video: Bloody little ripper mate

 Good call on the decay and crane use Ekka. And good call on the paying customer for getting you. I'm sure they had low bids from inexperienced/dodgy/desperate types. When you make the call its unsafe to climb theres no point risking your life coz they're a tightassss

Woman killed by tree service accident

If the job was done during bad weather then its quite possible that due to pressure to get the job done the poor decision was made to try and fell the whole tree when it was probably originally estimated and planned to be climbed and dismantled. Ive seen a number of climbers over the years try...
