I got this reply from Stihl yesterday. Hello Mark. Thanks for your E-mail and your interest in STIHL products. Please know that part number 1118-034-3000 supersedes to 1121-034-3005. These rings will work in your 028 if you have a 42mm piston. I hope this helps and if I can be of any...

The 028 rings are pinned with a 2mm pin that is offset from the groove so that .5mm of the pin dia. is in the groove. Finnbear

I found this in an 024 IPL. 1121 034 3005 2 Piston ring Ø 42x1.5 mm Would this be the same set as 1118 034 3000 (42mm x 1.5mm 028 rings)

The dealer has the same IPL for the 028 that I do which only shows the later 44mm piston/rings/cylinder for the WB and the 46mm for the Super. Mine is an older WB which is 42mm. Hopefully they know what fits an 024 and I can use those. I don't have time to get to the "good" dealer who I know can...

I am in need of a set of rings for an old 028WB. It has the smaller 42mm piston/cylinder. I have an IPL but it only shows the later model 44mm part number. I think the 024 and 025 use a 42mm cylinder bore - can I use the ring set from one of those? :help: Finnbear

I'd like to know which Echo model the John Deere 50V was modeled after. I believe the Deere 50V was made by Echo and I think that Echo just relabeled one of their standard saws to create the 50V. Finnbear

Can anyone tell me if there is a near-exact equivalent (parts-wise) in Echo saws to a John Deere 50V? You can't get parts from JD anymore and the local Echo dealer isn't old enough to know that Echo made saws for Deere in the past. Finnbear
