I have an 1985 250 quadrunner that won't start. No spark. I'm wondering if anyone has a copy of the owners manual and the maintenance manual so I could look at the wiring diagrams. Don't think this would belong in "the beg for manuals" thread........ or would it? Any help with the manuals or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I just picked up one of these last week from a salvage yard. The guy said it didn't have spark. I tried charging the battery first, but it would only hold around 10v. I hooked up an emergency jump starter pack, and it did turn over nicely, and the headlights worked. I won't have time to look at it this week, but hopefully it's something simple.

    CDI?

If you just need the electric diagram and you don't find anything useful from those links in the other thread let me know.

I'm 99% sure I still have the manual and I can take pictures, or make a copy of what you need and send them to you.

Thanks for the offer. I was kind of thinking the same thing (CDI). Would the CDI from a 185 fit on the 250? A guy that I work with has most of a 1985 or 86, 185 and he said I'm free to use whatever I need if it can be used on the 250.

I'm not familiar with the 185.

If I were to guess, they won't work. I'd hate to see you burn out his CDI

Start at the battery and work your way up through, unplug every wire plug and clean them, stick an ohmeter on each section and check for broken wires. If that don't do anything for ya your CDI is most likely the stinker, but rule out the kill button and ign. switch first.
