346xp OE cylinder wall, worn out?

Hello,
Not looking for any rebuild advice on this, just sharing really.
I was tearing down another 346xp to check it (pretty sure it had an air leak) , give it a refresh and new (upgrade) metal clamp intake etc. and I found this. Looks like either it's had a "hole" in the cylinder wall since new or the plating has worn away revealing an underlying casting issue? Anyway maybe this is common but I'm fairly new to this, saw was still running otherwise, slight piston rubbing on the exhaust side. I cleaned that up, honed and new ring only (for now) and put it back together, so far ok. If it dies I'll replace the jug etc.

Here's the pics, had a cow of a time getting decent macro shot here, best I could do. I've left them as taken so upside down technically, hole is below the transfer ports.

Just the first time I've seen something like that.
 
fill it full of jb weld and let her fly,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, I agree with brad,,, run it,,, looks like a casting flaw
