4-Mix Mods

    Is their any way to mod the 4 mix engines on Stihl pole pruners?

    Buy a KM130 motor and put it on!...

    Seriously though why? you're limited by chain speed... and it is a pole "pruner".

    I guess I should have specified, are their any reliability mods. Like opening up the muffler to make the engine run cooler or removing the catalytic converter?

    I wouldn't get into modding anything on the 4-mix engines. With valves you're not going to buy anything with a muffler mod, and like Ed*L said, the drive parts are very expensive and modding the engine to produce more power is only going to be conducive to breaking the drive parts faster. Keep the chain sharp and run it as is.

    There is no cat muffler on 4-mix...

    No Cat Muffler and why would you neep more power.......that thing is cranking out 1.9bhp.

    The manual mentions a catalytic converter :confused: and I just want the thing to last longer.
    I'll leave it as is and keep using synthetic.
