It's kind of funny that I did the complete opposite on my Remington PL4. I was very careful to keep the spider webs, dust, rust and grime on mine. It looks like it sat in a barn for 20 years and is useless but runs great. I'm afraid to put it in wood and ruin the "patina"
I would pull the recoil cover and blow the crap off the cylinder fins.
 
i used dupla color bgm0539 light blue metalic its a gm color you can get this paint at auto parts stores in spary cans but its expensive like 9.00 a can it took 2 cans to do my zip you should use a self etching primer on the saw first to get a bond to the metal aluminum is hard to get paint to stick to with out the etching primer
 
just picked up this white head 119 today it has a west bend 610 8.5 h.p engine i repaird the ignition poured some mixed gas in the carb and it started second pull

just finished this A.c. Lamb sd-5.8 the engine was a total rebuild the engine is a west bend 580 the front handle i made from an old homelite handle i had till i find an original
