What's the story with older saw mfg's having so many different models of saws that were identical or nearly identical? Homelite and Mac come to mind especially.

She looks like new! Wow nice find! I picked up a 10-10 automatic and was wondering if that chain brake set -up would work on mine?

Thanks! That was a complete tear down and repaint job, luckily it was mostly complete and starts on one pull. Previous owner took good care of her. Unfortunately I did not take any pix before I started cleaning it up.
I'm not sure if the 10-10 automatic chain break was the same but they appear very similar. This one is from the late 70's, not sure when the 10-10 auto was produced.

I have a part of a disston saw. Was recommended to post on this thread. I got this bar and gearbox as part of a estate sale. It appears to be a functional usable group of parts. All I have is what you see. My question is what kind of value something like this has, and are the something a person might want as is. My in-laws were trying to talk me into modifying it into a coat rack wall hanger, but if it is parts that someone would need I would rather see them go to a good home to save an old saw...

Got these 5 aniques last week and I'm not sure why. 
I found the one David Bradley is one with the big H81 power products engine so that might make me want to get it going, but its missing its recoil and air filter. Not sure how hard that will be to find especially since its a reverse rotation engine.
The little Lancaster is actually very nice and like new under the grime, sprocket still has its original paint on it and you can barely see where a chain was run on it.
The other David Bradley is a 360 model, a Hoffco 88 and a Mall 12A. These maybe looking for new homes in the future.
