On a long enough time line, the survival rate for every chainsaw drops to zero.
 
14,000 RPM = A lot of potential energy. We are lucky more people aren't hurt. If a flywheel comes apart at that RPM and hits a person, well..........
I have had that happen with one of my track cars back in the late 80's...a 13b periport will turn 15k though we limit them to 13k to keep them in the power band. I had one where the throttle plate stuck open while running down a track and the flywheel exploded and sent chunks through the bell housing and the floor of the car. tach recorded 16+k rpm.... scary stuff and yes when the flywheel came through the floor I did **** my pants (actually more of a greasy fart gone wild).....
