Hi!
Long time lurker, first post!
I picked up a husky 181se a couple months ago. It starts and runs really strong. It's pretty beat but I get a lot of 24"-50" wood for free and I was tired of borrowing my dads ms460. Found it on CL for $350. May have been too much??? Oh well.
It was missing the muffler bracket and the bolts snapped off so I pulled the jug to get the snapped bolts out and found out this thing was ported.
I checked compression before pulling it off and it's right at 150psi.
The cylinder has a few score marks in it but I put it back on anyways, figured if it gets worse ill get a p&c kit.
Hmm, how do i post pics on my ipad???

I think I got this figured out...

Lol! So is a rough porting job better than none at all? Or should I start fresh with a new top end? Not sure how long it will last with the scoring it has anyways...

Ok what is "transfer"? I can feel them with my fingernail. And I can see lines on the rings that correspond to the lines in the cylinder??

I can see lines on the piston but it feels smooth. It's definitely scoring then. Will it hurt anything to run it like this?

Fingernail digs in. I was going to use my cylinder hone but it looks like they won't work on a 2 stroke. It would catch on the porting. I'm new to 2 strokes.... Working on them anyways.

If it were me id run it like it is until it decides to give it up.just keep a new jug and cylinder around for a rebuild.
