I have an MS362 for cutting down and bucking bigger wood.Usually don't cut anything but dead wood and the occasional storm downed. I would like a lighter saw for both backup and cutting small trees >12".I plan on running a 20" bar as I don't like bending so far when limbing.Would an MS 241 with 18" bar do okay or would I be ahead to go with an MS 261?
I've considered a Husky 550 or 545 but I think I can buy the Stihl cheaper.

Ms261
Big enough to use as a backup but light enough for smaller stuff.
Although it'll handle a 20" bar, a 261 is happier with an 18".

I got a Dolmar 421 as a good small all around saw. I have an 18" 3/8lp and does fine. Good little saw for 12" oak and hickory. But 20" I think would be to much. A 241, 261, and husqvarna 545 or 550 are all good saws and fun. I like the 241 best of those but I wouldn't run a 20" bar.
This post is not helpful at all. Just rambling. Lol

+1 on the MS 261 if you want/need to run a 18-20 inch bar.

I have a MS 241 and think its a great saw with a 16 inch bar.
