Best chain/bar for cutting honey locust? (hard hardwood)

i think the obvious answer is a straight bar/sharp chain combo :biggrinbounce2:
 
I agree on Stihl chain, as they have thicker chrome than other brands - and would try both RSC and RMC.....:)

When I say the square grind lasts long enough to suit me even in tough wood I actually do mean Stihl chain. With square, the durabilithy of the Stihl chain over Oregon is dramatic. The newer CLX seems more durable over the CL, but I don't run enough of the CLX to be able to compare it to the Stihl.

Pretty much, the only chain I buy anymore is reels of Stihl square ground. Luckily I can get it for about the same price as Oregon (at Mxdsns) and I think the quality of the Stihl chain is clearly the best both in terms of the cutter durability and overall quality.
