I will make this thread, before I get banned.

This fall, I had an "epiphany", I do not know about that spelling, nor do I
care. I have decided to abandon my "experiment", as it is no longer worth
carrying on, as many lowlife copycats, have made it thus.

This past fall, it occured to me, that the Stihl MS290 on the shelf, was
quite an item. So I bought one, and parted it out on E-bay, and did well.

I had to tweak my postings, but it was a profitable venture, all winter long,
until this past weekend, as too many weenie types have commandeered it.

I just feel like now it is time to lay out my observations of my experiment,
as well as others, and if you guys are polite, and not attack me, I may
tell you my interesting findings.

Well the first thing I found out, and the "Stihl" guys should take note........

I had originally parted it down to the piston, crank, cyl. etc....

But I had to give that up, as the "piston" was so scarred/marred by mishandling, that there was no way that a buyer would accept it.
After 4-5 saws, I realized it was probably on most of the pistons.
Since I was working at a Stihl dealership at the time, I warranteed them out.
So I sold the engine block as a whole.
So to protect my e-bay standing, I decided to sell the engine as a block,
ready to bolt on, and it did ok.

I am only bringing this up now, because it is spring, and I want to hurt the
aswipes that have copied off of my idea, and give something for you girls to
mull over................................................

I will gladly post more tidbits about my "experiments" if you are nice to me.......................................................................................................................

I am an open book, and as a river of information, and discussion, I have
decided to trickle on you, once again.

My Stihl parting out "gig" is done, so I will "edify" the "collective", whether
you all deserve it or not.

So here it is girls.................................................................

So here it is girls.................................................................

So they were damaged during the manufacturing/assembly process? Stihl chainsaws? OMG, that does not sound good.:dizzy: :dizzy: :dizzy:

What's with the "girls" business? Does that mean I am now "teachergirl?" :sword:

yes, it as always, is pointless..............................................

I just wished to give you guys a "heads" up, on my e-bay business this
winter, and the interesting nuances involved.

In the real world, you must use your "communication" skills to "learn"....

I just like to "edify", maybe I should "text" it.............

Fish, are you inhaling too much carb cleaner again? Nobody knows what you're talking about. We're fairly sure you do but that's not helping us much.

In simple English, please tell us, chapter and verse, what you're trying to say.

I just wanted to say Fish you have helped many people the past little while keep posting and I don't buy from ebay so I never get screwed.

Obviuosly a very bad case of CAD!! We should help him somehow. lets go to his place and take away all of his chainsaws.... :dizzy:

:greenchainsaw:

I guess that is the problem around here, you guys only read what is handed down.

In the past several months, I have been parting out Stihl MS290s,
and I just thought I would share my experiences on doing so...........

Nothing more................................

If you do not care, do not post.....................

My God, man, what the h*ll were ya thinkin'!?

Lest my sarcasm make you believe otherwise, Fish, I would like to hear more about this said "experiment." I'll admit, though, to being somewhat confused as to which is the experiment, the parts selling thing or the whole "don't attack me" thing.

So Fish were these 290's new or used? Now you said that at the time you were working at a dealer, did you get these saws at a discount? If so would you have made any money if you had to buy these regular price?

Keep them confused and they will come back asking for more!!

Keep up the good work fish, it's got me laughing!!

No, just observations of my "winter" experiment................

Which should be "good" reading..

As far as the other, "who gives a ****"
I have been attacked here for 7 years, so that does not really matter.

I just thought you guys may have been interested in the fact, that
someone actually bought Stihl saws, and parted them out, on e-bay, and
made it through winter. Also there were some interesting tidbits learned
along with that, that you all would likely want to know.

But hey, it does not matter much.... Now does it????????????

Next year, I will likely sell lingerie...................
