First project from milled wood

My daughter wanted a couple of simple shelves to put stuff on and to hang a few things. I have two shelves I have made (both same style). This is first coat of stain. I think I will do one more coat after it soaks in some more. I like the lighter color. Ash is what it is. Seems to have a lot of character to it more so than anything I could find in a store around here.

yep I remember you^ I have an alaskan mill. Nothing special beyond the ported saws that go on it.
