Well, might be going in on an enclosed trailer build into an ice shack with some buddies. It will be insulated with spray foam. Walls, under floor and inside ceiling. Might use a 16x8 trailer. How much wood are we going to burning per day? One buddy has a Fisher Baby Bear he is not using. Just curious if we go for 5-6 days. During the day, won't be in it much, but might as well keep a fire burning. Thanks in advance.

I have a 8x16 with 3" insulated walls and use a single row(wide box f150) of split red oak on the coldest weekend here in northern Minnesota ice fishing.... in the warmer temps of Iowa you should not need more than two rows of the same? 3 wood(lol) be more then enough! even better would be to have a big buddy propane as a back up for emergency's.....

OK, thanks for the info. We are probably going to make a couple LOW trips and usually fish in Eastern SoDak Glacial lakes. You talking 1 row, level to bed across the back? Will have Propane heaters in all out portables if need be. Fish out of portables in day and crash in shack at night, or if wind is howling, nice to not be in a portable blowing all around.

Heh that is CROOKING!!! 75 is plenty hot for me. Will use the wood stove for the 1st year and decide if propane is worth it. Although, that little stove still weighs 240 pounds!!!
