Can some of you fine gentlemen take a look at this one?

This is on a mature Pin Oak 30" DBH just above the ground line. I suspect that it is a result of some mechanical damage from years ago. Overall health of the tree seems OK.
 
Thanks guys...greatly appreciated- I kind of phrased that wrong, the fungus is just above the ground line, not the dbh measurement.
