Hi

Recently purchased a new Golf piston(its an 024 42mm piston ) Now i find that the gap for the crank rod isn't wide enough on the piston, is this a golf piston thing and/or has anyone run into this before? I am sure i can use my dremel to widen the gap as long as the skirt clearance to the crank case is good, the amount of metal to grind is very small so it won't affect the integrity of the piston wrist pin area strength.

I haven't run into that particular problem but I have run into some other problems with Golf pistons being manufactured to the wrong dimensions. I just return them and buy OEM.
