Hi gang, and Happy Thanksgiving!
You all have been really helpful, both directly, and through my scrutiny of past posts. I have a Dolmar 421 that I love with an 18" bar. While I, and the Dolly, have eagerly attacked some inappropriately sized foes, I really am wanting to add a larger saw to the mix. I have/had been looking intently at a D 6100, but I believe I can get a pretty sweet deal on a 562XP tomorrow locally, and would also create a connection to a decent (hopefully!) dealer/servicer.
So... What are thoughts on setup? I am going with a 20" bar, and from what I have read, here and (gasp) elsewhere, .050 3/8 seems to be the norm.
Other thoughts on this saw? For $40 extra, is heated handles a no-brainer? I don't necessarily cut in the severe cold by choice, but necessity often intervenes. I'm in VT, BTW.
Anyhoo, hope you are all fat and stuffed like the turkeys, or will be soon!
Cheers!
