I've wanted a 2100 for a long time and finally got one but i know nothing about them. This one is fairly rough but runs. Does anybody make an auto oiler kit or is it thumb power only? Whats good compression? What are decent carb setting for 4,600 feet? Will a 281 clutch fit? Last question, anybody know the year of manufacture? Serial # is 1009877. Any help is appreciated.

The one I had for a while had an auto oiler, the manual one was just for added oil, like the Pro Mac 610s had.

The 2100 has both an auto oiler and manual. Clutch parts should be readily available. Great compression is 175-200 psi, good is anything north of 135 or so. It's going to depend on the saw. Carb settings depend on the individual saw, there is no standard setting for a particular saw at a certain elevation. Can't help you on the year.

1 would normally means 1981
next 2 digits is the week 01-52 would be normal- I don't understand 00?
9877 build # for that week? That seems awfully high?
Is it a silver or black tag?
Look at the date on the carb, that might be close to the build date of the saw

A search for 2100cd or husqvarna 2100 will probably give you reading for a few days.

Yeah it was i little high. I mixed up the 8 and 9. Its a silver tag, reads 1008977.

I took my 2100 with cutting firewood. It currently has a 7 tooth sprocket and 24" bar. Is this a higher reving saw lower revs with lots of torque? I think mine needs some work. My bone stock 288xp with 7 tooth and 28" bar cut half again as fast. Another question, Is the correct 2100 clutch and drum different than one for a 288?

from acres site:
288xp shows 6.1 hp 12,500 max free after break in, 9,300 under load.

your 2100 might not be up to snuff. I would think it does at least as well as the 288 IAW the specs....it should do almost 10% better
parts list for 2100 given above previously
clutch sorry don't know much about 288 I'm confident they are all big husky bar mount same as my 2100CD/298XP/272XP all the bars and chains can interchange.... swap the bar and chain as a set from one saw to the other for a real heads up comparison.:chainsaw:

Yes i agree my 2100 isnt running right. I'm taking it to the saw shop soon for a good once over. Its got 145 psi so must be in the carb. I dont know how long it sat before i got it. I did put an 8 tooth sprocket on it. I also noticed i have issues with clutch stuff and oiler seals.
