My 359 is now pretty much complete, still need to repaint the muffler and waitin on a set of bar nuts. Im running the 47mm meteor kit right now. Big improvement once I got the baffle out of the muffler. So far so good, I really like it, Ive had to take the muffler off a few times to get it to stop it blowing out one spot, filed it flat, used three bond, got it to stop. I have a 8 tooth sprocket with a narrow kerf bar an chain on it, cuts pretty good, think it will be good for firewood. I still have a leak somewhere on the carb side. Ive already took the carb off once , changed out the blue diaphragm to the tan, put it back together, everything snug, but still leaking. Everything is new, the intake boot, impulse line, the 198 carb is new. Im not sure what it is.

Not a lot, but yes, leaking gas. After a few cuts when I take the cover off an look its a little wet down by the impulse line. I have another new intake boot, hate to take cylinder off if I dont need to. Im going to take the carb off again tomorrow and look closely at everything to see if I can find whats causing it this time.

Make sure the carb mounting flange is true and flat.
I think you were right...had stuff to do today but when I got home I tore it apart, I got the flange off. I used a file and real lightly filed it flat, didnt take to much off. Once I got the flange back on I then put a real thin layer of three bond on the mounting surface and put it back together. Fired it up to make sure its good to go, to late to make any cuts. I will try it out and let you know how it is. Gonna pick up a new flange to have just in case.

I think its finally leak free. The carb side is dry, the muffler side is dry, and I also deleted the decomp. I got the valve real good an clean then I opened it up and applied some jb weld to it and let set then closed the valve back up, I also added a little in the tiny holes on both sides of it and let dry overnight. I liked having the look of it with the valve instead of a plug. Hopefully now my cylinder will stay clean an dry. She running pretty good, im still surprised at how much better these run with a opened up muffler. Those baffles really cap off flow a lot. Also like the 198 carb better than the zama on my 357, think Im gonna rebuild one my 199 and replace the zama. This meteor kit is running pretty good too, first time Ive ever tried one, they run ok. I didnt do anything to it just polish the intake, raised the ceiling a bit also where air first enters, before the intake boot had a higher ceiling than it did, they are even now. the color of that tank cap looks off in the pictures
