Mike Rupley was kind enough to send me an ignition coil for a 44. Now I have a question. I worked on a 44 that had a coil with a seperate ignition module, but the one I'm repairing now has the coil and ignition module in one package. Both the flywheel and the ignition module say "Phelon" and "Made in the US". Will the coil that Mike sent me, which is made by Bosch, work with the Phelon flywheel if I buy one of those aftermarket solid state ignition modules, or are the flywheels different too. The saw has multiple sets of mounting holes so that both coils fit, and everything looks factory, so I'm assuming there was a change in suppliers at some point.

A new ignition system (Phelon) was introduced into our assembly during week 35. The new ignition system includes the following spare parts: ignition module, flywheel, shorting circuit cable and air conductor.

The new parts cannot be combined with parts from the old ignition system.

Refrence numbers. 501-67-51-01 Fly wheel

501-67-91-01 Module

501-68-41-01 shorting cable

501-67-90-01 Air conductor

Hope this helps.
