Hi everyone, I'm acquiring more jonsereds and was looking at the tags and still confused.
Can't find the tag on my 2152...
2163-2002?2003? 02 3500060
2165-2001?2003? 01 3700315
2071-1997. 7120270
Post coming about the 2163 vs 2165 vs 2071 soon. Thanks

How do I edit title? ID instead of I'd?

2152 tag. Is it located behind the diagonal side of the half wrap?
2163 2002 35th week 60th unit made that week.
2165 2001 37th week 315th unit made that week.
2071 1997 12th week 270th unit made that week.

To find and read the tag on the 2152, it is easiest to take the clutch cover off, and look to the rear of where it was, and under the rear end of the handlebar.

I thought I had read somewhere that the first two numbers were ignored which worked on the other saws until I saw my 2165 which was indicating the 70th week of 2003.

Fixed the title for you...:)

Ok, I just got home and see it now. Thank you

2004 week 41.

Be aware that the system has been changed several times after the use of "decodable" serial numbers started in the early 1980s. The system used on your 2071 (1997 7120270) only was used in 1997, 1998, and the first about 17-18 weeks of 1999).

There are no "leading" digits that should be ignored in any of the versions of the system. How many that is used to tell the year varies from 1 to 5, and the next 2 always are the week (from about 1984). The remaining 4-5 are consecutive numbers within that week.

Thanks for the fix! Can you tell me how to fix for next time?

I can fix things like that as a moderator, not sure if a regular member can go back in and edit a title to a thread, I am just guessing but I don`t think so. Do you have an ,edit, feature anywhere on the bottom of your sig page?

Don't see it. Ill.be extra careful to proof read title next time. thank you

At least it used to be a problem, but I haven't checked lately.

Just below and slightly to the right of your title, do you see a dropdown menu labeled Thread Tools? If so, "click" on that, and it should give you the option to Edit Title.

There it is! There are so many little icons and such that I don't use so it kind of all blurs together. Thank you!

To edit a post in a thread, you have to be pretty quick, as the half life is rather brief.

I have threads that I created months, and months ago, that I can still edit the title.

:happybanana:. First character posting! Figured It was somewhat relevant. I generally stay away from them. Thanks again

My problem helping out others is that I don`t get the same page as the regular members do so I can`t see what they see on their page. There has been many changes to the looks and features of the pages so I forgot what a regular page contains.
