Would this respond similar to porting, as your 3750?

I'm not sure Jon. I'm sure it will tune up nice, but I doubt it will make the RPM that the 3750 makes.

The 3800 is an unplated bore saw........it will never be what your 4000 is.

$20.......that thing looks unused, no scratches in the decals....where do saws like that come from....
I have been paying way to much for my beat up and abused saws....

I picked it up off of the SLC Craigslist. Early in its life the fuel plug was cross threaded, then overtightened cracking the neck of the fuel tank. It was put on a shelf, and left there.
It runs really well since it was stored dry.

Here's a view of the most wear on the saw.
