Log guarding on excavators

I had a ~8" spruce drop on the roof of the skidder yesterday, one of the logs I was pulling caught on it and snapped it off near the ground. I didn't even notice until the BANG on the roof which busted the top and that hit into the side window. Happened darn quick! WAS a nice piece of Lexan that was almost new. It held up, but scratched it.
Scared me enough I stood on the go-go pedal and did a pretty good wheelie (I went to brace and my big ass Bunny boots caught the gas "pedal" (just a little rod thing on the 648D)
Might be something to thing about too, taking out the glass and putting in Lexan. That's what is in the feller buncher and both skidders (from the factory)
