Is the chain going to go 'ping' unless the driven sprocket rim is that big (24-tooth), hence a wider tailed bar?
Is a wider tailed bar going to make any demonstrable difference to the amount of tip support needed?
Any other reason for the wider bar tail?

How much does this increase the friction experienced by a bar, and the friction applying to the chain on the un-powered side of the bar due to more tension from pinching in the kerf?
 
24 tooth sprocket gives you the chain speed need by direct drive from what I "assume" is a 3600 rpm motor. Other wise they would have to use a speed increasing drive train.

Tip deflection should not be changed significantly by bar width

Friction should be slightly reduced as at least one tip has a larger radius therefore each link has to pivot less and Change in direction is not as sharp or violent.

As to pinching????
 
with an electric motor you have higher tourqe at startup than a internal combustion engine. but it still takes time to get the engine up to speed to achieve the top tourqe produced.
 
  • 12-15HP 3P electric motor
  • auto feed
  • board return
  • super wide tailed bar with a rather unique 24-tooth chain rim.
  • rail is connected to bar tip forward and above the tip so that as the load comes on the tip is supported against drooping.
  • if you freeze-frame the video when they are showing the chain, look how low the rakers are compared to the cutter length. I wonder how that would look when cutters filed 3/4 way down.
  • Picco, even with up to 15 horses pulling it?
  • solenoid for oil pump output so only pumps when chain running
  • water cooling for bar also
  • 2 bar lengths, up to about 28". Seems a shame to have all those horses and not have a longer bar option.
