Lower boom cylinder

My lower boom cylinder drips after its relaxed. I want to have the seals replaced. Can I remove the cylinder with the boom in its cradle? How heavy are they? Roughly what is the cost to have it fixed?

Yes, you can replace while booms are stowed. They are very heavy and full of fluid. Mine was around 400 to re seal

I had my lower cylinder repacked last year. It was around $350. Just had an upper cylinder repacked last week. $250.

Anyone know if I really have to redo the entire lower cylinder on my ALC after the required 8 years?
ALC said you need cylinders rebuilt every 8 years. How dangerous is this?
Anyone know about Aerial Lift of Connecticut booms?
