How to store them until ready to turn em?

Wax any end grain (dip or paint it on thickish) and keep them out of the sun. I usually bury my blanks in sawdust in a cool dark corner of the workshop.

Thanks Bob, it's been since April when I asked . I'd forgotten about asking this until you answered yesterday...
Thanks tho, I've had my maple Burl's cut for a month sitting in shade under my barn roof, but dusted them for bugs before I was going to bring them inside...
I haven't sealed them but there not cracking so I might seal them soon with some anchor seal.
