I decided I need to upgrade my son's swingset. The cheap thing we put up isn't up to the task of 3 kids swinging.

I decided to upgrade with bur oak. I milled a 7" x 5" x 15' beam yesterday from a dead oak. Kind of heavy, but my brother has a skid steer for lifting it up. I plan to make 4x4's for supports. There is hardly a knot in it which is great for a bur oak!

The MS461 and Granberg did well on this 16" tree. I have a 24" red oak to mill this fall. Thinking the 461 will be a little small for it.

I am still working on technique on getting the boards straight. I need to get a better guide. The 2x4 ladder I made just isn't making real straight cuts - I need to take more time to anchor it. Ok for a timber, but the red oak is going to be trim.
