You guys are trying to apply the current Oregon system to Jon's NOS bars. 176 isn't a current mount. The old obsolete A176 mount was the original Homelite XL-12 (and Poulan 360 and Remington and...) and Echo mount. First used in late 1963 with the introduction of the XL-12. Later used on many saws from Echo, Lombard, Remington, Roper, and others that slip my mind right now.

Those are now covered by the current 'multi fit' D176 mount. Almost the same tail profile (some A176 mount bars have a more tapered tail). Same 5/16" stud slot. Same oil hole locations. Same adjuster hole location. The difference lies in the adjuster hole shape. The D176 adjuster holes are large and oblong (rather than round as on the A176).

There's oil passages from the adjuster holes to the chain groove. This is to allow use of the D176 mount bars on 10-series McCulloch chainsaws (which oil through the adjuster holes). Oregon replaced the A176 with this mount (as it still works fine on the 5/16" stud Homelites, Echos, Poulans, Ropers, and such). Oregon dropped the old D276 10-series mount as those saws are covered by the D176...

Homelite 'upgraded' their XL-12/SXL/XL-900series/etc saws to 3/8" studs at some point (early 1970's from what I've gathered). Those saws use the D096/D196/UXL mount. Same pattern as the A176, but with a 3/8" slot rather than 5/16". The Windsor UXL also has D176 style adjuster/oiler holes.

Would anyone know if a 1468-88 Sandvik Bar would use the equivalent D176 mount? That bar fits old homlite saws and was told it would fit my old solo 60135 (635) but its also hard to find. So I am trying to figure out a current or more common tail mount to be used on this saw.

Pictures of the mount area, and measurement of the bar studs might be helpful.

A D009 or D196 might be correct.

@leeha @Bill G may know for sure.

Sure thing I had pictures on the original post in a different old thread.

I'm not up on bar mounts. I just try a few till I find one that works.
If your trying to fit a bar to the old Solo you will need to know the
diameter of the studs. Most likely they are 10mm. I would look at
Bars from Dolmar, Husky, etc that have 10mm slot. You could find
a bar with 3/8 slot like most American saws but you will need to file
the bar slot. Then there is the adjuster hole and oil hole.

Lee,
You mean like a D024 for a older Jonsereds or Olympyk/OleoMac?

Exactly. Got to remember when dealing with over seas saws that
everything is metric. I do have a couple over seas saws with 3/8
bar slots but they had to be filed a bit to get them over the studs.

Im having problems getting pictures uploaded

They do measure 10mm so are you saying that a D024 is likely to fit?

Had a couple bars that I have laying around most all of them fit the slot but none fit the adjuster or oiler holes. I never considered drilling or modifying the bar mount but none of the bars I have are even close to the correct mount besides the slot being big enough.
