First on is on a King Crimson Maple

Second is on the underside of a Magnolia.
Scrape it off and it's a brown gooy substance with a fungus like smell

+1 on the magnolia scale.

On the Norway maple: there is a spot on the right that looks like it is a dark spot on the right side that I wouldn't expect. Are there dead branches on the tree - especially around that area?
