I purchased a Stihl 025 at a pawn shop today for $100.00. It started on the first pull. However I couldnt get it to turn off. I finally pulled the cover and manually killed it some how. Needless to say I am a greenhorn newby. My question is, where can I find operating instructions on my saw?http://www.arboristsite.com/images/smilies/confused.gif

You can actually go on Stihl's website www.stihl.com and either download an operators manual for your saw or have them send you one free of charge.

You may need more of a repair manual if it won't shut off with the external controls.

Make sure the wire too the kill switch is connected. Might be the switch itself although I'm not familiar with the Stihl all in one switch. You can usually just choke it to shut it down.

Thanks for all the info. I did get Stihl to mail me a manual. Also I just used the choke to kill the engine. However I broke the pull cord. It cut really good before I broke the cord. It was leaving nice big long pieces of sawdust. I am going to try to fix the kill switch when I replace the pullcord.
