Just delivered.

Assembled the bar and chain. Bought some fresh mid grade. Sloshed some 50:1, give or take a few drops.

Won't fire.

Has spark, getting fuel, as plug smells and is damp, and vapor coming out of exhaust. Removed plug and pulled to dry out chamber. Tried different plug. Even tried it with and without decompression switch in.

Just won't start. Upsetting. The other 20 saws that are 20+ years old fire half way through the 2nd pull, half will at least pop once some where on the first pull.

Ideas?

Compression? Spun flywheel (did a 372 yesterday)? Plugged muffler screen? Spark hot enough? Bad air leak?

Spark check needs to be done. Might be spark plug, coil, wiring from coil and switch, switch.

Then checking the flywheel to see if the key way broke away.

Is this a NEW saw or new to you. If it's new return it or get warranty work done.

New. Like delivered ups $1200.

I turned in the low speed and it fired. Lots of blue smoke for a few seconds. I set the low jet a 1/4 turn in from where it was factory.

Time to rip it under a hard load and see how goofy the high speed is set...

Apparently.

It's got some grunt.

I'll have to browse the forums and see what all mod fun has been done.
